Wall in the Wilderness

When wood sculpture Greg Duncan, visiting from South Australia, first saw Derwent Bridge, he had the strong sense that this was where he should live.

In 2005, Greg started a monumental art project - a great frieze illustrating Tasmania's rural life & history, carved in Huon pine.
Each panel is 3 metres high & when completed will be 100 metres in length

He has called it "The Wall" & is a  work in progress

Unfortunately you are not allowed to take photos in the building.
Definitely has the WOW factor

The people & animals have an amazing real life feel to them, as if they could step off the wall & talk to you

Just one of the most amazing things I have ever seen

This eagle is the best I can do to show you Greg amazing talent for sculpting
