A Town embraced by Hills of Stark Haunting Beauty

Mural of the stark hills

Galley museum
Photographic collection tribute to history of the rugged West Coast of Tassie + collection of minerals & mining equipment, clocks, medallions & the list goes on
We spent about 2 hours wandering through all the rooms on both floors

Miners Siding, tribute to mining industry from this area

Railway station

As you can see by the weather, not a very pleasant day here today

The roller got bogged & they had to bring in the big guns to drag him out

Queenstown cold wet winters make turf sports ground unsuitable, consequently Queenstown has the only gravel-surfaced oval in OZ.  Regular games of AFL & cricket are played here during summer & winter.  Make "em tough in this part of the world" !!!!
