In 2006 the Scottsdale RSL commissioned Ediie Freeman (busy man!!!) to create a memorial to the efforts of all the Armed Forces during the Second World War & the Vietnam War


Soldier - carrying a M60 machine gun - is typical of an infantry soldier when fighting in jungles of Vietnam during 1962 - 1973
Nurse - represents the valuable role the nurses play in all wars
Sailor - represents the role the navy play in transporting troops, providing fire support for our armed forces & control of the oceans
Pilot - represents the vast role the army plays in all wars
Soldier - represents the vast role the army plays in all wars
Helicopter - is a reminder of how warfare has changed since WWII & Korea.  In Vietnam they were used extensively for transport of troops & supplies & also provided valuable fire support
Spitfire plane - a fighter plane used in WWII
Cannon - a reminder of one of the old weapons used during early wars
Flag - signifies a reminder of all that our country fought for !
