Franklin located on the Huon river

Franklin is famous for it's Wooden Boat Centre, where they build & train apprentice's the art of making wooden boats.

Just as we were leaving Geeveston, the fire engines with sirens blaring, were racing along the highway

Huge bushfire had broken out somewhere

Tasmania's Forest Town - Geeveston

After leaving Cockle creek this morning headed back towards Hobart through the Huon Valley. Stopped at Geeveston to have a look at the display in the Forestry office

Hastings Caves & Thermal Spring

Another tourist spot is the caves & thermal spring, just a short 5 kms off the highway on the way down to the pristine south.

We were expecting a lovely natural rock pool with very warm water. 
NOT TO BE  !!!!
