Oatlands

Scenery along the way from Kempton to Oatlands,
countryside is looking for tinder dry

Cantwell's store 1840

The Manse 1860

Love this topiary

Council chambers/Town hall

Roche hall 1886, last time we were here this building had a big memorial arch out the front, has been dismantled & hopefully being rebuilt outside the old gaol

Original Oatlands  hotel 1861

This unusual tree trunk is in the kids playground

Callington mill

This is home for the night, Oatlands is RV friendly & there are 12 vans/caravans spending the night here in the old sale yards.  Only closed in 1988, when in operation it could hold 7,000 sheep & 450 cattle at the one time

Old top off the mill, looks like a spire off a Russian orthodox church

Lake Dulverton & campers

Campsite with mill in background
